Rooted in Community, driven by Liberation
Together we are reimagining what becomes possible when community takes care of each other.
Homies Empowerment is a grassroots, community-based organization rooted in East Oakland.
We believe in the power of community to create meaningful change. Through collective care, solidarity, and community-led initiatives, we work to address immediate needs, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities for our communities to thrive.
We believe that solidarity is the foundation of liberation—our freedom is bound with the freedom of our neighbors. When we care for one another, we create the conditions for all of us to thrive.

We are building upon Oakland’s legacy of self-determination, ancestral wisdom and community care. We contribute to this tradition by providing dignified food access, community-engaged green space, youth empowerment, and culturally-rooted programming. Together, these initiatives form an intergenerational, sustainable ecosystem driven by intentionality, reciprocity, and communal well-being.
