THE NACA INSPIRED SCHOOLS NETWORK (NISN) IS BUILDING A MOVEMENT OF STUDENTS, FAMILIES, AND EDUCATORS TO CREATE EXCELLENT SCHOOLS RELEVANT TO THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE. NISN WORKS WITH FELLOWS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES TO ESTABLISH SCHOOLS IN NEW MEXICO AND THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY THAT WILL CREATE STRONG LEADERS WHO ARE ACADEMICALLY PREPARED, SECURE IN THEIR IDENTITIES, HEALTHY, AND ULTIMATELY TRANSFORMING THEIR COMMUNITIES. HOMIES Empowerment Caretakers invited by Dr. G Reyes, Professor at CalState East Bay, to speak to his Doctorates students on activism living in the community

Dr. G Reyes @o_g, HOMIES Empowerment board member and professor at CalState Eastbay @csueb invited the Homies Empowerment and HOMIES high school caretakers to speak to his educational leadership for social justice Doctorates class and share about how activism can live outside the classroom and in the community.

We would like to thank them all for the opportunity to speak and listen to the amazing professionals, scholars and community leaders. Thank you for listening and for letting us share our story.

HOMIES Empowerment acquires 20,000 square-foot of land from the city of Oakland to promote sustainability and healthier ways of eating. The FREEdom farm will be utilized to promote community events, gardening and sustainability with the local community.
